While based on a traditional shape, the SCT-607B is anything but old-school with its 7-string, 27" baritone scale and neck-thru-body construction. It features a comfortable alder body and a three-piece maple neck, with an unadorned Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets. Its sound comes from a set of Stephen's new signature Fishman Fluence 3-Voice pickups, with a ceramic pickup in the bridge and an alnico pickup in the middle position. These pickups have three voices, selectable with push-pull volume and tone controls and a 5-way super switch. Voice 1 (Modern Active) is Stephen's midrange tweak on the original modern Fluence sound; Voice 2 (Modern Passive Attack) is Stephen's custom voicing with some tone and gain tweaks to give it extra heat and edge; the newly added Voice 3 provides a cutting, overwound single coil tone.
