We're stoked to present another Mayones Aquila Cardinal 6 in an classy Antique Black Matt finish! On the toneful Swamp Ash body wood, it looks like a warm mocha take on a Natural finish. We've been proud to be Mayones dealers for several years now, and this guitar is a shining example as to why. The pure craftsmanship and attention to detail makes this axe feel like the finest European sports car.

The Aquila is Mayones' take on a design that harkens back to the early 80s while implementing the knowledge and experience they've attained over the years. This model easily achieves both classic tone and modern quality that Mayones has come to be known for.

The 12" radius ebony fretboard and buttery maple neck plays lighting-fast and feels incredible in the hand, as with every Mayones instrument we have in. The combination of Gotoh locking tuners and Hipshot hardtail bridge offers supreme tuning stability.

The custom-wound, Mayones-exclusive Bare Knuckle TKO pickup set, while designed for high-gain chug, surprised the players here at the shop with their awesome clarity on clean settings, especially with the coil-split on the volume control. Of course, the TKOs excelled the most at distorted riffage, and we were very pleased with how both single notes and chords sounded huge without getting muddy, which is no doubt also a result of the clear, bright and tight acoustic tonal profile of the swamp ash body, maple neck and ebony fretboard formula. This particular set of TKOs looks extra rad with custom Raw Nickel covers and black hex bolt pole pieces.

The 80s-inspired shape of the Aquila looks brings out the grain of the swamp ash body beautifully, evoking the now-iconic "Superstrat" vibe whilst retaining a unique modern vibe all its own. The silky-smooth maple neck and ebony fretboard gives the guitar an effortless modern feel. Along with the simple controls and premium Hipshot, Gotoh and Schaller hardware, the star of the show is the Mayones-exclusive Bare Knuckle TKO pickup set, which combines an Alnico V neck humbucker with a ceramic bridge humbucker for a wide variety of tonal options, excelling particularly in a tight high-gain setting.
