Anderson guitars are a shop favorite, and for good reason - every instrument they build is a bullseye. This Guardian Angel came out stunningly beautiful and is designed to rock hard and provide a versatile tonal palette of musical sounds to choose from. As soon as you take this jaw-dropper out of the case, you'll be drowning in a deep sea of rich purple quilted maple.
Plug this beauty in and without ever turning to your amp, you'll have a wealth of tones right at your fingertips. The neck and middle single-coils sound absolutely beautiful with a warm, rich, and velvety-smooth tone that packs enough punch to stay articulate with distortion, whilst continuing to sound wonderful clean. In the bridge, we went with what Anderson themselves refer to as perhaps their most popular pickup. The HC2 can handle absolutely anything you throw at it - it's able to get lean and mean, and if high-gain is your thing, go ahead and drench it in saturation. But it's hardly an overwound pickup. That's the beauty of it! It has a present mid-range, but enough bass and treble to sound balanced and not have that nasally honk that so many mid-focused and overwound pickups have.
The neck is a perfect mix of slim without being paper-thin. The even-taper neck shape is smooth and, combined with the compound radius of the fretboard, allows for effortless playing wherever you happen to be on the neck. We get this neck shape on a lot of the guitars we order because it seems to work universally for so many people. This bad boy features a unique "Baby Floyd" locking tremolo with locking saddles, allowing you to omit the locking nut for the best of both worlds.
Designed with the flexibility to handle any genre of music, this Anderson is a thing of beauty and ready for the limelight. May your Guardian Angel protect you and guide you on your rock odyssey!
The Guardian Angel is:
- 24 frets of super-fast playability.
- Gorgeous exotic wood-topped body.
- Pickguard styling
- Unique Angel body silhouette for easy access to the upper-most frets and beautifully balanced playability.
- Comfortably sculpted front and back contours.
For those of you who know our guitar models, think of Guardian Angel as a Drop Top Classic with a full two-octave range. But that is just the beginning. Completely designed and aligned from the ground up to be a 24 fret "angel" of a guitar with unparalleled abilities. We gorgeously reshaped and balanced the body to allow extended access to the upper frets, via the deeper cut-aways and longer horns.
As with all Anderson Guitars, Guardian Angel is endowed with the best playing guitar necks to be found anywhere—Anderson’s legendary, super-fast and ultra-easy playability in an array of our Even-Taper back shapes. Unparalleled performances.
Guardian Angel's pickguard is specifically cut as to nuzzle its neck pickup nearest the 24th harmonic, for the richest “24” neck tone obtainable. You may like to call it, 24-fret neck-pickup magic.
All Anderson pickups and pickup layouts are available for Guardian Angel so you can outfit as you prefer and access all your favorite electric guitar tones—and much more—via our familiar and intuitive, multi-dimensional, 5-Way, or 3-Way switching setups, which easily brings all sounds you could ever imagine under your command.
SC 1: Slightly more than vintage level, single coil sound, humcanceling (great for neck and middle application).
HC 2: Our other most popular humbucker, perhaps. Who wouldn’t love a medium-hot output package with all the vintage flavor firmly in place, wound to create a full bouquet of tonalities. Muscular mids with a smattering of lush and soft highlights so it is impressively musical, with never a hint of that “oops, I accidentally sat on a duck,” tone. Beautiful from all tonal angles.
