There's never any question as to the quality of the instrument you're getting when you get any PRS guitar. But there's something magical with these Private Stocks and, at the end of the day, they're unique and simply unlike any other PRS guitar out there. For this one, we started with a Custom 24 Piezo model, already a quintessential PRS instrument in its own right, and outfitted it with some exotic tonewoods.

The distinct wood choices include a Black Limba body and neck, which not only looks great but also imparts a focused tonality to the natural resonance of the instrument. And the top is a unique choice for a PRS - a beautiful piece of spalted maple. The grain has a lot going on, so much so that you may find yourself spending just as much time staring at it as playing it. We wouldn't blame you! To top it all off, this guitar also features luxurious all-wood hardware appointments such as the pickup rings, knobs, and truss rod cover.

But even with the awesome tonewood selection, the real star of the show here visually is the fretboard and headstock veneer. Using exquisite pieces of ebony and curly maple, PRS pulled off one of their signature fingerboard looks by transitioning the fretboard from one wood type to another using intricate inlay work for an incredibly cohesive, striking and flowing look. It's simply insane and not something you see everyday.

For this one-of-a-kind build, we selected PRS's "Metal" pickups, which we think are a great contrast with the distinctly "woody" look of the guitar. As the name might imply, they are certainly a bit overwound, but they are far from being one-trick ponies. They obviously sound incredible with higher gain settings, but can also handle clean tones with ease. Rather than thinking of them as strictly "metal" pickups, they're really just slightly more aggressive sounding pickups than the 85/15 pickups that come stock on Core PRS guitars, while retaining a lot of the same voicing. The Black Limba body and ebony/maple fretboard add some nice brightness to the tone that further help it to cut through in a dense mix while playing with heavy distortion.

And if that's not enough, this guitar has an amazing piezo system to give you a range of acoustic-like tones, and it can also be mixed in with your magnetic tones to create some really beautiful, crisp, and crystal clear sounds.

The Custom 24 Piezo is a 24-fret solidbody piezo-equipped guitar that effortlessly achieves classic humbucker tones and authentic acoustic sounds in one instrument. The added versatility of PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo gives musicians a new and unique tool to add to their lineup.

The Custom 24 Piezo has two output jacks, allowing guitarists to plug into their favorite electric or acoustic guitar amp or DI into a soundboard. By utilizing the separate blend control, the tone of the humbucker pickups can also be combined with the piezo acoustic sounds through a single output.
