EMG GZR-PJ Geezer Butler Signature PJ Bass Pickup Set in Black with FREE Clip-On Tuner and 18.6ft Cable
EMG GZR-PJ Geezer Butler Signature PJ Electric Bass Replacement Pickup Set in Black
EMG Pickups along with legendary artist Geezer Butler have collaborated to develop the GZR-P and GZR-PJ signature bass sets. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bass player started working with EMG founder Rob Turner in 2011 looking to find the classic bass tone he had in Black Sabbath’s early days. As Geezer and Black Sabbath moved from studio to touring in 2013 the final component of getting the classic Geezer tone was in play, the rigors of a world tour.
To recapture Geezer’s early Black Sabbath tone, it meant a new EMG vintage style passive P & PJ design with a few modern touches. The all solderless P set uses Alnico 5 pole pieces and custom wound coils for just the right amount of punch and grit. The J (PJ set) also uses Alnico 5 poles and features two custom wound split-coils that both eliminate the noise and hum usually associated with early 70’s bass pickups and allow for more power and volume than any other standard single coil J giving this set remarkable balance between the P & J. The result is unmistakable early Geezer Butler bass tone with deep, tight low end that you can hear on “Iron Man”, “War Pigs”, and “Paranoid” just like 1970’s. Said Geezer, “I never felt comfortable giving my name to any other pickups, but this time these have blown me away.”

- Reversible multi-color display
- Visual metronome
- Fast and accurate tuning
Is the NS Micro only for guitars?
No, while the NS Micro main design intent was for guitars and basses it will tune other instruments such as ukuleles, mandolins, and banjos. As long as the tuner can be securely mounted to a vibrating part of the instrument, you should be able to tune it.
I always see the NS micro mounted behind the headstock can it also mount in front of the headstock as well?
Certainly, though you will have to use the flip screen feature so that the orientation of the screen is correct.
Can the tuner be calibrated to other frequencies besides A440?
Yes, The NS Micro tuner has an expanded calibration range from 410Hz - 480Hz
Does the NS Micro have an auto off feature?
Yes, The NS Micro will automatically power down after 10 minutes of use to preserve battery life.
I noticed on one of my guitars that the tuner does not hold the note as long as on my other guitars. Why is this?
All guitars vibrate differently. It is very possible that the area you are clipping the tuner to has a vibration node. This is an area on the instrument that the vibration does not have a strong amplitude. In most cases clipping the tuner to another area of the headstock or instrument will solve the problem.
I use a lot of alternate tunings, can the NS Micro be used for these?
Yes, The NS Micro is a fully chromatic tuner meaning it can tune any note of the scale not just the standard open strings of a guitar.
I'm trying to tune my guitar to Eb. How would I do this on the NS micro?
The NS Micro only displays pitches in sharps. So to tune your guitar to Eb you would tune it to D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D# Low string to high string.
The battery indicator is on. Will my tuner still work?
Yes, the battery indicator will come on once the tuner senses that the battery is getting low. This is a warning that you should purchase a new battery for the unit. When the battery gets low you may experience a dim display or poor performance of the tuner. Replacing the battery with new one will restore proper operation to the tuner.
What kind of battery does the NS Micro use?
The tuner uses a CR2032 3V coin cell. These batteries are readily available at most retail outlets.
