This Custom 24 has minor cosmetic scratches on the body.
We're proud to offer another beautiful Custom 24 from Paul Reed Smith. This one's in their gorgeous Eriza Verde finish, which has become a PRS fan favorite over the last few years. The brilliance of the green is truly eye-catching in person.
The majority of Custom 24s these days are coming with 85/15 TCI pickups, and for good reason. These are a faithful evolution of the pickups that put Paul Reed Smith on the map, but now they come TCI-tuned, which, long story short, makes them even better than they were before! They sit in a just slightly-hotter-than-vintage level of output to cover that base if that's what you need, but can also more than handle their own in more modern settings as well. They handle saturation and distortion with grace and ease. The pattern thin neck shape is lightning fast to maneuver around and definitely allows for some effortless fast runs while not feeling like a toothpick in your hands.
There's a very real thing that can happen when you pick up a guitar that is just so inspiring that it makes you a better player by not only being easier to play, but also by giving you more motivation to pick it up and play it every chance you get. The PRS Custom 24 is one of those instruments!
The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 TCI pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 TCI pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end.The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.
It’s All in the Details: TCI-Tuned Pickups and Nitro Finish
“TCI stands for Tuned Capacitance Inductance. When you wind a pickup, the coils are capacitors, resistors, and inductors simultaneously. Our more refined ability to be able to tune those factors is what we have incorporated into TCI pickups,” said Paul Reed Smith. “To our ears, the results are very musical. We are very proud of how far we’ve come in the understanding and making of pickups. It’s been a fun process.”
PRS has also updated the finish system in their Maryland factory. PRS has been known to tweak its finish formulations and processes, always looking to provide a great sounding, feeling, and looking guitar while maintaining a repeatable, quality-driven manufacturing process. This new nitro finish is a variation of PRS’s Private Stock high-gloss nitro with a cellulose CAB basecoat. The resulting finish is thin, hard, and clear – all qualities that help make a resonant, musical instrument that feels great.
