Occasionally at Vanguard, we will introduce limited-edition CUSTOM SHOP items with various upgrades. Each of these mics has been hand-modified by the Vanguard team. This is one of those, and once we're out, we're out!

The Vanguard V13 gen2 is a large-diaphragm multi-pattern tube condenser microphone. Crafted by experts over the course of 3 years, our design goal was to combine vintage warmth with smooth modern detail. After extensive testing and listening by world-class engineers, we can say with pride that the performance of this mic rivals or exceeds iconic vintage & modern microphones at a fraction of the cost.

This special edition is the result of Derek stumbling upon a few Cinemag transformers on his R&D shelf. Cinemags are some of the best transformers in the business, with rich harmonics and that delicious je ne sais quoi that only high-quality audio transformers can provide. With humbucking rejection, low distortion, and superb bandwidth, these transformers take the already-scrumptious V13 gen2 to new levels of delicious sonic flavor.

The gen2 features upgrades including US-made audiophile-grade low-noise resistors, Neutrik® Group Connectors, and an upgraded power supply.
