Ernie Ball Music Man Jason Richardson Cutlass HT Guitar, Buckeye Burl Top, Kokiri Forest
PLAYER'S PERSPECTIVE
Born of tradition, class, and decades of refining a tried and true design, the Music Man Cutlass model expertly combines vintage sounds with modern playability and craftsmanship, and this Jason Richardson signature axe follows suit while being tuned to Richardson's exact preferences. New for 2024 is this stunning Kokiri Forest green color, adding a whole new dimension and revamped look to Jason's axe!
As with the standard Cutlass model, the tried-and-true tonewood combination of an alder body with a heavily-figured, dark-roasted maple neck along with Richardson's choice of an ebony fretboard results in a snappy and trebly top end, paired with a resonant and punchy bottom acoustically. The rich acoustic resonance of the guitar pairs well with the custom EBMM "HT" pickups, which can go anywhere from clean to mean with the array of controls: there's a push/push gain boost and a coil-split on the pots along with an active preamp. Although simple in pickup layout, this guitar is equipped for a vast range of tones.
The versatility of this Richardson model is only to be outdone by the silky smooth feel of the entire guitar. The neck is satin-finished and plays fast and effortlessly. And to improve this iconic model even further, the Jason Richardson has a custom-contoured lower horn for further access to 24 frets.

Jason Richardson HT Bridge pickup
The Jason Richardsonson HT bridge pickup outperforms normal-spec pickups with more output, dynamic range, and excellent touch sensitivity. The pickup not only achieves high output but also garners a powerful low-end response while retaining a distinctively clean, clear tone and definition at lower volume levels.
Jason Richardson HT Neck Pickup with Coil Tap
Most tapped humbucking pickups produce a thin sound. HT technology offers superior power and enhanced richness compared to conventional tapped humbucker coils. The custom-wound pickup produces a more authentic, rich single-coil sound when the HT coil is tapped.
Push Push Boost Circuit
The preamp boost is activated by a push-push volume knob and is factory set to 12db. Via a trim pot inside the control cavity, the preamp can be adjusted up to 20db if needed for heavy rhythm parts or high-octane soloing whenever the user chooses.
Designed to Perfection
The Jason Richardson Cutlass features a perfectly balanced lightweight double-cutaway body design, allowing unparalleled access to all 24 medium jumbo frets. Additionally, the roasted maple neck is hand-shaped with a shallow neck carve for very fast playability.
