This Fujigen JOS2DUFMR Odyssey in a striking Transparent Purple Flat finish is a tasteful take on the "HSS S-type" style of guitar, part of the legendary Japanese guitar manufacturer FujiGen's very own proprietary line of instruments. The rich-looking purple finish topping the flame maple veneer is pure class, and the black binding around the top adds a understated appeal. The visible grain of both the top and the swamp ash back are almost "3D" looking in person and look great contrasted with the rosewood fingerboard.

Looks aren't all there is to this great guitar, though, as the Seymour Duncan pickup set serves up great vintage-style single-coil tone with the Alnico II Pro neck and Vintage Staggered middle, providing great chime in the 5 through 2 positions, and the coil split on the bridge humbucker opens up the guitar's capabilities even more by emulating an "SSS" setup when engaged. The contemporary Pegasus bridge in humbucking mode absolutely screams and can cover anything from heavier blues to modern motel. Gotoh locking tuners and the proprietary ultra-stable 2-point tremolo bridge round out the great hardware specs.

Item Specifics

This FGN come with a unique Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.), which offers better pitch and articulation than conventional guitars and basses. All frets are installed in a slightly-curved shape, so that every string crosses all the frets in 90 degrees to offer a minimum contact of string on a fret. The compound radius fingerboard allows for much easier chord playing at lower frets while bending strings at higher registers remains easy. This guitar has a black-bound Flamed Maple veneer top on an Ash body. Hardware appointments include Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners and a smooth and stable two-pivot FGN tremolo bridge.

A direct-mounted Seymour Duncan chrome-covered Pegasus bridge humbucker, APS-1 Alnico II Pro neck and vintage Staggered SSL-1 RW/RP middle pickups offer total versatility of modern humbucker and vintage single-coil sound with 5-way lever switch and a coil tap mini-switch.
