The Country Squire Semitone Special is the result of one of those conversations.

Constructed from the tonewoods of choice two-piece centre-jointedAmerican alder body with alder top, Canadian hard rock maple neck and maple fingerboard the Special has a solid platform for superior tone and performance.

The extended tenon neck/body join and chambered semi-acoustic body couple outstandingly well to add an airy lightness to the feel and voice of this great guitar, while the gently offset body, with sculpted heel and slim horn, provides terrific balance and enhanced upper fret access.

The Wilkinson WTB bridge features a stamped cold roll steel baseplate which surrounds and enhances the magnetic field of the alnico V loaded bridge pickup. 

Adjustable, pre-intonated barrel style natural brass saddles ensure authentic tone and spot-on tuning. Two strings per saddle solidly anchor the saddles to the bridge baseplate, ensuring the maximum mechanical coupling so crucial to giving you all the power you need.

The flat pole piece WVOTB bridge pickup offers authentic vintage '52 'Nashville Snap', and all the classic 'out of phase' sounds are there at the flick of a switch.

The Wilkinson Vari-coil control adds so much to the Special, that in just a couple of deft moves, switching between the WVOBT, the classic voiced middle single coil, and staggered pole piece neck double coil, you can move seamlessly between mellow full-bodied jazz to a creamy, focused bridge single coil sound with enhanced mids and increased power.

The Country Squire Special exemplifies the creative edge which is part of the DNA of all Fret-King guitars.
