G&L's Fallout model is a beautiful foray into short scale basses. This one, custom-ordered from their USA Fullerton factory, in finished in a gorgeous Pearl Grey. 

This 30" bass has G&L USA's distinctive quality from top to bottom. The frets are excellently seated and leveled. The neck is smooth and fast to maneuver on, and the vintage tint satin finish both looks great and feels fantastic. Despite only having one pickup, the sound is anything from absolutely massive and powerful to bright, tight, and cutting. It's got the same electronic layout as the L-1000 model, along with a similar "P-bass on steroids" sort of voice to it. The OMG (series) mode, accessible via the mini-toggle, is like a bulldozer that will plow its way through anything you put in front of it. The single-coil mode will be bright, cutting, and sound like an old school single-coil P-bass might have (think Sting's bass tone from The Police) but with more oomph to it. In parallel mode the sound is a mix of full and warm, and tight and punchy.

It's sure to please anyone looking for that short scale sound, or players with smaller hands (or a guitarist wanting a familiar-feeling bass option) that still need to comfortably lay down the low end!

This 30” short scale powerhouse features a G&L Magnetic Field Design humbucking pickup controlled by a 3-position mini–toggle switch for parallel/split/OMG modes – just like an L-1000 – bringing anything from modern to old school tones to your fingertips. What’s more, players used to a traditional 34″ scale will find this pint size puncher super easy to play.
