For anybody who may have ever been daunted by the prospect of playing a full-bodied jumbo guitar or for those who are well accustomed to it, this Guild F-55E hits all of the marks and will make a great addition to any collection!

The body size makes the tone deep and massive and the guitar is incredibly resonant. You can hold the guitar up against you and really feel every one of those strings ringing out. The neck has some substance to it but it isn't too thick or too fat. This is a pretty easy one to play and get used to so you can really play for hours on end without any issues.

The flame maple back and sides, along with being beautifully figured, add a brilliance and brightness to the sound that is very welcomed in a jumbo acoustic like this. It's great to have some of those treble frequencies ringing out along with the powerful bass. It makes for a beautifully warm sound that can cut, at the same time. The slight mid-scoop that is natural to this guitar works wonderfully well for most singer-songwriter styles as it produces a big sound without stepping on the vocals. The spruce on it provides some nice natural compression as well so even as you dig in hard, the top won't overdrive and start to flutter out. The sound remains tight, full, and dynamic.

The bottom line here is that you end up with a great sounding and great playing acoustic and you don't have to cut corners in terms of tone or craftsmanship. Use the built-in LR Baggs Anthem preamp for easy plug and play action through an amp or a PA. The Anthem is the top-of-the-line preamp that LR Baggs makes and accurately and cleanly conveys the true sound of the guitar.
