Guild M-40E Troubadour Concert Acoustic Electric Guitar, LR Baggs VTC, Natural

Player's Perspective

This small-bodied M-40E is one of the most beautiful and tonally unique acoustic guitars we've had the pleasure of having in the shop!

The sound and feel of this USA-made M-40E is everything you'd expect from a fine, high-end Guild. Despite its small size, single notes are rich and full, with overtones that make it feel like there is so much more going on than just one note ringing out on an acoustic guitar. Chords blend together beautifully whilst letting each note retain its identity, and you can really hear the resonant qualities in the wood come out as chords fade.

Being a shorter scale length, the string feel is slinky and comfortable under the fingers, encouraging all styles of fingerpicking, strumming, and flatpicking. The smaller body size is naturally ergonomic and makes for a punchy, focused instrument.

In addition to just being a flat-out awesome acoustic guitar, the state-of-the-art LR Baggs Element VTC gives you the added versatility of being able to faithfully recreate the harmonically rich sounds being produced acoustically through the PA, acoustic amp, or mixer.

Made right up the road from our store here in Southern California, this Guild is a fine example of American craftsmanship in a warm-sounding, comfortable, and easy-to-play instrument!

Details

Formerly known as the F-20, this style of guitar was made popular by many artists in the folk-era. Back under a new name and designed with some of the modern techniques pioneered by master luthier, Ren Ferguson, this small-bodied American-made sweetheart still radiates the same, charming vintage character. The M-40 Troubadour’s Sitka spruce top paired with African mahogany back and sides provides a delicate, well-rounded tone that is perfect for fingerstyle playing and light strumming. The small, concert-size body is comfortable and lightweight and features white ABS binding, a rosewood bridge and fingerboard, and a bone nut and saddle. A thin satin varnish gives this guitar its familiar, broken-in look and feel, while also allowing it to breathe. The M-40 Troubadour’s timeless appointments include a vintage style rosette and Guild’s peak logo inlaid on the headstock. Each M-40 comes with a hand-signed, numbered certificate of authenticity, and ships with a humidified hardshell case
