Despite being a renowned musical instrument manufacturer since 1892, Harmony Guitars are somehow still criminally underrated in the modern guitar world. With awesome instruments that combine a retro vibe with modern sensibilities like this semi-hollow Comet, we're seriously hoping that changes!

This is a great option if you're in the market for a old-school semi-hollow that's something a little off the beaten path while also having some exclusive features you don't usually find on this style of guitar. The body shape is nice and compact but still retains the resonance and tone of a traditional thinline, and aesthetically, the classic f-holes are incorporated beautifully. Modern design choices like a slightly longer 25" scale, a 6-in-line headstock and locking tuners improve string tension and tuning stability, as well as imparting a "snap" on the feel and tone that allows you to really dig in.

The gold foil pickups are just incredible sounding. Although decidedly a full-size humbucker, they also have a distinct "bell tone" to them reminiscent of something along the lines of a Filtertron pickup. They have really nice chime and clarity for shimmering chords but also a nice warmth to them. We do love them clean, but they're capable of some nice overdrive as well, being able to handle classic blues leads and rock riffs with ease. You can get a lot of tones out of this setup with just the two pickups and the single volume and tone knob. What's more is that the push-pull on the volume control puts the coils in parallel, which almost sound like true single-coils without the hum! This added shot of versatility really takes this guitar over the top.

The aesthetics, vibe, and immediate tonal properties of this guitar obviously exude vintage eccentricity, but you'd be surprised at the music this thing can cover. We think it'd be a fine, unique addition to the collection that stands out nicely and a solid choice if you're missing a semi-hollow.

Inspired by the original Harmony H72 of the '60s, the Comet represents the very first semi-hollow electric guitar in our lineup of cherished musical instruments.

This double cutaway guitar has an immaculately carved genuine mahogany top and back for warm, well-rounded and acoustic-like tone. The addition of a center block minimizes feedback, and the long-tenon set neck construction increases sustain.

Custom gold foil humbuckers provide sheer musical enjoyment for players who love rock, blues and more, while the push/pull master volume pot extends the Comet's tonal possibilities by engaging incredible out-of-phase sounds.

A six-in-line headstock pays homage to the original H72's iconic look, and premium hardware ensures that the Comet will never lose its appeal.
