We're excited to have in another gorgeous bass from Ibanez's killer Premium line - this time, this beautiful SR2605 in Cerulean Blue Burst!

If you're looking for high-quality electronics, superior craftsmanship, and a lightning-fast neck, then you're probably going to want to take a closer look at this beauty. To start with, the feel is superb. The neck feels absolutely divine and the raw woods on your fretting hand will only feel better and better over time. It's like breaking in a nice pair of leather boots. It's a very thin neck profile which allows for hours and hours of playing without having to worry about hand fatigue. Moving on from the back of the neck to the front, we have an absolutely perfect display of fretwork here. For an instrument coming in below the $2k mark, it's absolutely superb. The premium fret edge treatment really makes it so you don't feel any of the frets as you're sliding up and down the fretboard. Meanwhile, they are laser-precise to allow for incredibly low action, which only further facilitates the already easy playability of this bass.

Moving onto the body of the bass, we've got a mahogany body with a flame maple top. The mahogany is going to provide lots of punch and tightness in the midrange to complement the neck-through panga panga wood which also has very punchy low-mids. All of these wonderful tonewoods are rounded out with some absolutely killer Nordstrand Big Single pickups. They give you a jazz bass on steroids kind of sound with a lot of crisp clarlity in the top end and tight and growly bass response. Excellent for slap or for dialing in a more aggressive sound that really cuts through a mix. These really are beefy and powerful while still retaining single-coil characteristics. Combined with the Ibanez custom 3-band EQ, this bass definitely leans towards modern and hi-fi tones. You can still flip it into passive mode and get some nice vintage tones out of it as well, but where it really excels is when you want a bass tone that will stay nice and defined in a mix.

This is a great bass for the player that wants to do more than just sit in the background and play some muddled low notes. Be heard clearly and definitively with this bad boy. Slap, fingerstyle, and pick playing are all a breeze on this and the versatile electronics allow for a very flexible tonal pallet.
