Jackson USA Custom Shop Limited Edition Soloist Guitar, Maple Fretboard, Seymour Duncans, Snow White

Player's Perspective

Just in - this absolutely stunning limited-edition Jackson Soloist from their USA Custom Shop! Dressed in a gorgeous Snow White, this maple-boarded fox is ready to rock.

Lean, mean, and equipped to scream straight out of the late 1980s, this Soloist brings to the forefront everything that makes the storied model great. The classic S-style shape, the neck-through construction, a set of ferocious yet thoroughly vintage-sounding Seymour Duncan pickups, the iconic mother of pearl sharkfin inlays... it's all here, and made in the good ol' U.S. of A.

The Seymour Duncan pickups in question are a JB in the bridge and a Little '59 Strat in the neck position. The JB is one of Seymour's most popular and iconic pickups, and is not only high-output but also has a very distinct and powerful midrange characteristic that makes it perfect for high-gain settings, killing anything from classic '80s glam leads to modern shred and djent-y riffage. Meanwhile, the Little '59 brings all the vibe, warmth, and throatiness of a '59 PAF humbucker, but in the form factor of a single-coil pickup. This imparts a focused, cutting vibe combined with the noise-free operation of the humbucker - perfect combination!

The Jackson Speed neck profile is the perfect balance of shred-friendly while still having juuust enough meat to not feel like an absolute toothpick. Here at the shop, the .70 to .80 range is a very agreed-upon range of thickness for this balance, and we love how the neck feels with the silky-smooth maple fingerboard. And the surface-mount Floyd Rose they chose for this guitar in conjunction with the Gotoh tuners and rock-solid locking nut stay in tune for days. This setup is prepared for any dive bombs and wild pulls you throw at it!

Details

The Jackson Custom Shop has turned out world-class custom guitars ranging from the fine to the fantastic ever since the Jackson name was first affixed to a headstock in 1980. The reason for this impressive longevity is simple: Jackson was a custom shop since the very beginning. Every Jackson guitar was an original, high-performing custom instrument.

Whereas some production guitar-makers open their own custom shops after reaching a certain age or level of success, Jackson existed from its early days as nothing but a custom shop, building distinctive and meticulously crafted instruments for a very exacting clientele. No design was too crazy, and no idea too far-fetched—if someone conceived it, Jackson’s talented, imaginative and occasionally demented craftsmen built it. This early emphasis on originality and even outlandish one-off instruments proved enormously influential for Jackson’s most famous and oft-copied body shapes.

It’s a longstanding tradition of U.S.-made greatness and devotion to craftsmanship that flourishes to this day.
