Player’s Perspective
Here’s a simply killer guitar for you, straight from the Jackson USA Custom Shop - the stunning Randy Rhoads RR24 Ghost Flame! This axe (in nearly a literal sense) may lean on the more subtle side visually, but its beauty lies in said subtleties, and it can absolutely tear your head off in the tonal and playability departments.
The all-white finish, maple fingerboard, and chrome hardware give this guitar a very utilitarian and clean yet fearsome look, and the flames on the body screams hard rock madness while staying beautifully subtle from a distance.
The single EVH Wolfgang humbucker in the bridge wired straight to a 500k volume control simply rips with reckless abandon, covering anything from classic arena rock to crushing metal styles, and the Original Floyd Rose is fit for pitch-bending maneuvers suited for the legendary Quiet Riot & Ozzy six-string slinger himself.
The Jackson Custom Shop team put their hearts and souls into this beast, and you’ll no doubt be able to notice the painstaking attention to detail in every nook and cranny of guitar. We’re stoked and honored to offer such a remarkable instrument.
Details
The Jackson Custom Shop has turned out world-class custom guitars ranging from the fine to the fantastic ever since the Jackson name was first affixed to a headstock in 1980. The reason for this impressive longevity is simple: Jackson was a custom shop since the very beginning. Every Jackson guitar was an original, high-performing custom instrument.
Whereas some production guitar-makers open their own custom shops after reaching a certain age or level of success, Jackson existed from its early days as nothing but a custom shop, building distinctive and meticulously crafted instruments for a very exacting clientele. No design was too crazy, and no idea too far-fetched—if someone conceived it, Jackson’s talented, imaginative and occasionally demented craftsmen built it. This early emphasis on originality and even outlandish one-off instruments proved enormously influential for Jackson’s most famous and oft-copied body shapes.
It’s a longstanding tradition of U.S.-made greatness and devotion to craftsmanship that flourishes to this day.
