Built right here in Southern California a little up the road in Santa Clarita, our friends over at LsL are cranking out some of the best vintage-style axes in the USA. This gorgeous Saticoy HSS with a stunning roasted birdseye maple neck, custom 3-Tone Sunburst Sparkle finish and a hand-wound PAF-style humbucker is a true stunner in every sense of the word, from playability and looks to its tone!

A bolt-on guitar with a classic sunburst finish with a maple neck is one of the most iconic looks in guitar history. The LsL gang decided to take every single one of those aspects to the next level! The Sparkle finish gives the quintessential Sunburst look a helping of flash and spectacular sizzle, and the roasted birdseye maple not only looks amazing, but adds to the tonal resonance of the guitar as well as makes the neck more stable throughout the seasons. On top of all of that, the fantastic heavy-aging job brings the whole package together and really bestows that road-worn, vintage vibe.

The LsL pickups sound fantastic, and have just the right amount of clarity and punch in all positions. This guitar's got that open and airy, vocal-like tone that vintage axes from the 60s were so well known for. The neck pickup gets warm and round without sounding loose. The middle has some really nice twang to it as well that carries some fullness while being bright and cutting through the mix. And for the pinnacle of versatility, the humbucker in the bridge nails that low-output humbucker tone that blends perfectly with the single-coils whilst adding the warmth, fatness, and growl you need to rock out.

For the player who loves that vintage vibe of a beautiful S-style guitar shape and tone but demands high-end quality, this is a great option!

When Lance decided to make an S style he figured it would be best to start at the beginning; 1954. He was lucky enough to get his hands on a real holy grail kind of guitar that was loaned to him. It was number 1055 and was and still is a honey of a guitar. We couldn’t have a better example. We worked hard to get that same, vintage tone and feel with a few improvements along the way.  Our body shape is slightly different and comfier. Smooth, hand-shaped contours make for a smoother, more flowing shape.

Our Saticoy models also have the lower tone knob controlling the tone of the bridge pickup alone while the middle tone knob controls both the middle and neck pickups.

We believe that our Saticoy is a worthy and true example of a vintage sound and feel that only comes with gigantic price tags. Even if you were lucky enough to have one of those, you wouldn’t want to be bringing it to hole-in-the-wall gigs. Our goal was to make a guitar that would be great enough to attract some of the best players in the world. Now, several of Lance’s guitar heroes are playing Saticoys.
