Another step back in time.
When I decided to make this kind of guitar I figured that I would start with the beginning; 1954. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a real holy-grail kind of guitar that was loaned to us. It was number 1055 and she was and still is a honey of a guitar. We couldn't have a better example.
We worked hard to get that same, vintage tone and feel with a few improvements along the way. Our body shape is slightly different and sexier. Smooth, hand-shaped contours make for a smoother, more flowing shape.
Our Saticoy models also have the lower tone knob controlling the tone on the bridge pickup alone while the middle tone knob controls both the middle and bridge pickups.
We believe that our Saticoy is a worthy and true example of a vintage sound and feel that only comes with gigantic price tags. And even if you were lucky enough to have one of those, you wouldn't want to be yanking it into dark, sticky-floored bars. Our goal was to make a guitar that would be great enough to attract some of the best players around. Now, several of my guitar heroes are playing Saticoys. How cool is that?
