As the man himself intended, this gorgeous David Grissom Tremolo (DGT) with vintage-inspired Moon inlays is a player's paradise and a true workhorse. This one's in a beautiful Black Gold Wraparound Burst finish with a stunningly unique maple top.

This guitar was intended to roll the tonality and response of Grissom's favorite vintage guitars into a streamlined, modern package with the PRS flair and attention to detail, and they definitely pulled it off! The DGT is one of our favorite PRS Core models here at the shop.

Vintage warmth, crisp high-end, responsive mids and rounded out lows all come singing out of this instrument with ease. It is both fast and luxuriously comfortable to play, and the tremolo system performs effortlessly and reliably. As per Grissom's preference, this guitar comes factory set up with 11s for thicker tone and more "fight" to the feel and response, but the Grissom neck along with the jumbo frets let you get the tonal benefits of heavier strings without really feeling the difference or having to work harder.

The exclusive DGT pickups are simply awe-inspiring. They have a certain reputation in PRS fan circles as being perhaps the best vintage-style humbucker pickups in the PRS lineup - clean or distorted, these have a very distinct dynamic responsiveness and clarity that nails the exact feel, punch, and drive of a good vintage humbucker instrument.

This guitar covers a ton of ground and will make a terrific companion on stage or in the studio - you'll probably see this model on social media as the go-to guitar of a ton of session players. It's truly one of our favorite models in the PRS lineup as well, without a doubt!

Details

The DGT (David Grissom Trem) is the result of more than 20 years of collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom. The DGT is based on the McCarty platform with a unique DGT neck shape, taller frets, special pickups, and a revised control layout. Grissom and Paul spent a year A/B-ing more than forty sets of pickups before nailing the vintage-voice of DGT humbuckers. When paired with individual volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull master tone control that operates the coil taps, DGT pickups provide versatility and articulation.
