Spector basses have been at the top of most modern bass players' lists for decades at this point. We're thrilled to carry the most top-of-the-line basses in Spector's lineup! The beautiful flamed and spalted maple top and birdseye maple fretboard make this one easy on the eyes with tons of beautiful wood figuring to look at.

The NS-2 is perfect for rockers and funkers alike. This one is probably a little more geared towards a rock player thanks to the Darkglass preamp. But we've also found this to work really well in other genres such as funk where the bass just needs to stand out and really drive everything. The Bolt-On design is going to give extra snap and sharper attack to your notes. Whether you want an aggressive sound that can handle loads of distortion and remains tight and punchy or you want something that will sound absolutely killer when you slap into it or with some fingerstyle grease, then this is the perfect bass.

The P/J pickup configuration is a classic. You get the round, wooly, fullness of the P with all of the tight, punchy, bark and growl of that single-coil in the bridge. Of course, these aren't just any pickups either. They're EMG's so they're going to be hi-fi sounding and will contribute to the characteristic Spector growl that oozes out of this bass. It also has a Darkglass preamp that helps bring out some midrange sizzle with the turn of a knob. You can load your tone up with distortion and saturation and still be punchy and articulate with your notes. You can also play it completely clean and get a growly, tight, and focused sound that sits really nicely in a mix and never gets buried.

This bass is simply incredible. It's absolutely one of those instruments that will put a smile on your face and you'll have a hard time slapping it off.

The original NS instrument was designed by Stuart Spector and Ned Steinberger in Brooklyn, NY. Since then, the NS has taken on a life of its own. The distinct, unmistakable curves have attracted professional bass players the world over to these exquisite instruments. Beyond its world-class design elements, the neck-thru construction of these instruments provides players with unprecedented levels of stability and sustain, bringing a level of definition to bass never before heard. All of this natural tone is then enhanced with our proprietary active circuitry. The coveted HAZ pre-amp is the source of the sound, providing the famous “Spector growl” when paired with your favorite amplifier and effects. 

Spector NS instruments are individually built by a small team of builders in Woodstock, NY from the finest source materials, including hand-selected tone woods from the most fertile regions of the world. Our choices for body woods include premium 5A grade Quilted and Flamed Maple, exotic varieties of Spalted Maple, Walnut Burl, Buckeye Burl, reclaimed old-growth California Redwood, select Swamp Ash, and many, many more. Each 3-piece neck is carved from tempered North American Maple and can be paired with Pau Ferro, Birdseye Maple, or Ebony. Each instrument is outfitted with custom, professional-grade hardware including our hi-mass locking bridge, Dunlop strap locks, and Gotoh tuners. Your options continue from there with a choice of inlays, hardware color, and of course stains and finishes. Our NS instruments are also available with our Helium package, which includes weight-relieved body wings and lightweight hardware.
