The satin-finished roasted maple feels almost like bare wood as your hands glide up and down the neck. The Suhr Medium C profile neck with a compound radius will feel extremely familiar to fans of both modern and vintage-style guitars alike.

Sonically, the Mateus Asato Classic T (M.A.T.) pickups in this axe are Mateus and Suhr's idealized take on a good vintage T-style pickup set, but with some tweaks in the EQ to make it more viable through modern rigs. Warm, clear, nasty when you dig in, and never ice-picky or harsh. They're incredibly touch-sensitive and responsive to picking dynamics like a vintage guitar should be. Suhr really nailed it with these. The especially-amazing bridge pickup has equal amounts of twang and sweetness!

Mateus and John Suhr put their heads together to create two new custom pickups for this new guitar. John Suhr painstakingly hand-wound a number of different neck and bridge pickups to find the perfect combination that Mateus was looking for. Perfectly finished stainless steel frets, a stunning painted bakelite pickguard, our silent single coil system (SSCII) and our unmatched craftsmanship, all make this instrument a Suhr, however, all of the hours and work put in by Mateus and John has culminated in something truly special, the Suhr Mateus Asato Signature Classic T.
